Collections Management Philosophy
Managing the Library’s vast collections is an ongoing process. We are always listening for faculty and student interests, reviewing pricing and values of individual resources, and developing ways to make the collections management responsive to faculty and student needs. The University Library is minimizing duplication across formats, preserving access to high-use high-impact materials, collaborating and cost-sharing with library partners and consortia, maximizing use of interlibrary loan, and increasing the efficiencies in the journal and book purchase process.
