The HOLD SHELF in the CLIC

Where in the CLIC do you pick up a book you have recalled from another patron or one you have requested through the Library's free interlibrary loan service? On the HOLD SHELF!

WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR BOOK ON HOLD. Books on HOLD are filed by the last name of the person requesting the book. The books on the CLIC HOLD SHELF are already CHECKED OUT to the person requesting the book. Just find your name and take your book.

Please pick up your requested book within 7 days from your notifiication date. If the item is not picked up in seven days, it will be removed from the HOLD SHELF and sent back to the home library and reshelved.

You can return the book at any U.Va. library.

WHAT IS A RECALLED BOOK? If you find a book listed in the online catalog, VIRGO and it is checked out, you can click the RECALL link in VIRGO to recall the book. An e-mail will automatically be sent to the person who has the book checked out. The e-mail states the book has recalled by another patron (the name of the person recalling the book will not be mentioned) and must be returned to the library within 8 days. When the book is returned, you will be notified by e-mail that it is available for pick-up. If you have designated your "pick up" library as the CLIC, the book will be put on the CLIC's HOLD SHELF.
