BOOKS ON HOLD IN THE CLIC
First of all, what is a book on hold? If you check the UVa Library's online catalog and note a book is checked out, you may recall the book. The library patron who has the book will get an email message alerting them to return the book in 10 days. When the book is returned to any UVa library, the book will be routed to the library location you designated for pickup. When it gets there, you will receive an email to let you know the item is "ON-HOLD" and ready for you to pickup. If you designated CLIC as the pickup location, pickup is self service. You will find the HOLD books are shelved alphabetically by the last name of the person who recalled the book. Once you locate your book, you can take it as it is already charged out to you! Books not picked up within 10 days will be checked in and returned to the shelves so that you do not get fines.

Other library pickup locations are mediated by library staff who will charge out HOLD books to you.

BOOKS ON RESERVE IN THE CLIC
faculty may put books on reserve in the CLIC for a class. If so, you will find them on the Reserve shelf about midway down the expanse of windows which is on your left as you enter CLIC. Books are in alphabetical order by the course INSTRUCTOR'S last name. Books may only be used in the Curry Library Innovation Commons. Patrons are asked to reshelve these books.
