CONNECT FROM OFF-GROUNDS
There are currently 3 ways to authenticate (verify you are a UVa student, faculty or staff member) from off-Grounds so that you can connect to library databases and full text journal articles. One option is the proxy method. It is easy to install. We encourage you to set up a proxy account with the FireFox or Safari browser as opposed to Internet Explorer.
The two other options for authenticating are with VPN. Two different VPN clients are available: the Cisco VPN Client (IPsec connection) and the Cisco AnyConnect Client (SSL connection). Go to the following chart to determine which VPN client is best for your computer/laptop.

BRING YOUR CUP
We are asking for your help. Due to the great response from all of you, the coffee, tea, sugar, and other supplies are going fast. We love the conversations and sense of community the coffee and tea are helping you to produce! So bring your cup and help make the CLIC a greener place. You're terrific!

SEARCHING FOR VIDEOS IN VIRGO
Clemons Library has over 25,000 videos that you can borrow. To locate videos, go to VIRGO, UVa's online catalog. At the top of the blank search box are 3 tabs. Click on the VIDEO VIEW tab and then enter your search. On the left, a faceted list displays that allows you to narrow your search. For example, I entered the keyword TEACHERS in the search box and pressed the blue search button. On the left of the screen, a faceted list displayed that allowed me to narrow the search in a variety of ways including language (English, English-subtitles, English-no subtitles, etc), year, subject, etc. I noted there are 680 videos about the subject training teachers, 53 about training math teachers, 32 about social studies teachers, 12 about foreign language teachers....
You can renew online the videos you check out as long as they have not been recalled by another patron. You can return them by putting them in any library book return, including the book return to the right of the door as you exit on the North side of Ruffner on the first floor.
