The Barrett
Daycare Center continues to operate at 410 Ridge Street in
Charlottesville. The Board of Directors is made up of
citizens from all areas of the community who have an
interest in pre-school children and demonstrate leadership
qualities. Today, this board determines the policies of the
Nursery and supervises its finances. As of 1989, the day
care has operated solely on donations and tuition fees.
Recent fund drives have proven successful, raising enough
money to refurbish the seventy-two year old building that
houses the daycare. The daycare continues to operate, thanks
to the support of Charlottesville-area businesses and
individuals.
