Narrative of William Hayden
Hayden, William Narrative of William Hayden containing a faithful
account of his travels for a number of years, whilst a slave in the South
written by himself. A very rare narrative, its Cincinnati imprint
is uncommon and because of its proximity to the South slave hunters swept
the city looking for runaway slaves. Hayden includes his own poetical
works in this book, making him one of the earliest African American poets
in print.
