World Music Recordings
This project is designed to make recordings of world music held by the University of Virginia Music Library more easily accessible than it is through the on-line catalog. This includes all music which is not classified as Western art music, jazz or pop, but will include those forms from non-western sources.
The organization of the discography is:
- General music across political boundaries
- Geographic divisions by continents
- Regional divisions within continents, across country boundaries
- Individual countries
- Regional divisions within countries
- Political divisions within countries
- Peoples within countries, crossing political divisions
